Proper Weight

Even a little extra weight puts additional strain on your bones, joints, feet and circulatory system. How much should you weigh? The ideal body weight is one that gives you the greatest life span, health and vitality.

A helpful way of computing your ideal weight is to use a formula called the Body Mass Index. It’s really quite easy. Take your current weight in kilograms and divide by your height in meters squared. Use the charts below to complete the simple formula:

Weight in kilograms ____ divided by height in meters squared ____ = ______

While longevity is a constellation of many factors, those with the longest life spans have a Body Mass Index in the 19-to-25 range.

However, this formula doesn’t work if you’re younger than 18, a competitive athlete or bodybuilder, pregnant or nursing a baby, or elderly living a sedentary lifestyle.

What is the purpose of pain?
Pain prompts many Oakdale folks to begin chiropractic care. But pain isn't the problem! Pain is just how your body alerts you that a limit has been reached (or exceeded), that something isn't working right and that some type of change is needed. As a chiropractor, my job is finding the underlying cause and recommending the changes needed to bring your body back into balance.
Are aches and pains good or bad?
